On it's way!!!

I will finally be able to tell the time from my wrist! Have been eying out these beauties from Uniform Wares for quite some time now. A birthday present from my parents (and myself) it will soon arrive on my doorstep. YAY!

The Japanese really know how to create perfection like no one else. Here are some superb examples from Maruni and my favourite Khai Liew.

Sunshine to You!

I bought this zine created by Japanese designer Sachiko Kihara at the last MCA zine fair held earlier this year and just had to share it because I absolutely love it! Her pencil and water colour drawings are perfect in their simplicity.

Chalk

Got a new house mate recently who has been making some pretty nice chalky creations! So you could say chalk is on my mind! I stumbled across this amazing graphic designer/chalk artist extraordinaire Dana Tanamachi from Brooklyn. She knows her chalk - I was absolutely blown away by her typography! See more of her amazing work here.

Mike Perry

Mike Perry is my favourite. If you are after anything handmade/drawn he is the best at cataloging the best. I own two of his books Over and Over: a catalog of hand drawn patterns and more recently Pulled: a catalog of screen printing. They constantly provide me with inspiration every time I flick through the pages. Check out more from Mike Perry here.

Our Workshop

Our Workshop are a design collaboration duo who, besides having a successful brand and marketing design business, have an awesome online store selling all sorts of great design and vintage products. I am especially in love with these notebooks and journals created by graphic designer Julia LaBulle. They have really simple designs and striking geometrical graphics printed on a Riso. Below examples are from the geometric series and the hairy series. Love it. See more here.

Luck Boy Sunday

Formed on a sunny Sunday near the lakes of Copenhagen Lucky Boy Sunday create handmade knitted kids softies. They evoke the sombre and mystical nostalgia of childhood. See more here.

O - Check Design Graphics

O Check, a Korean design studio who aim to create simple yet functional products which evoke emotion and nostalgia. I have been in love with this stationary for quite some time now. I just adore the simple graphics, the diagonal stripe especially is just perfection in my eyes. A journal in itself (either empty or full) evokes nostalgia for me - the journal has been a great love and obsession of mine for most of my life and will continue to do so for some time. See more of the products on offer and store here.

Ask Alice Stationary

A great inspiration Ask Alice creates notebooks, journals, cards and postcards handmade locally in Melbourne from recycled papers, vegetable inks and bio degradable packaging. I bought a lovely thick sketchbook for a friend to take traveling, it had blocks of different coloured paper with an added surprise of a few pages from an encyclopaedia as well which gave it a unique quality. I must admit I wanted it for myself, but it gave me some inspiration to have a look at creating some stationary for myself. Check out her website for products, blog and shop!
